Ngemi Cia UK exists to promote and share the rich Kikuyu culture in the United Kingdom by showcasing traditional cuisines like mukimo, mataha, and muratina, and celebrating our music, especially mugithi.     Njuguna (Lady K) is the visionary Founder and Director of Ngemi Cia UK, a Homecoming Festival in the UK that celebrates culture and heritage through music, food and community. With over five years of hands-on community service, Lady K has become a respected leader known for her passion, warmth, and unwavering commitment to bringing people together.

    Driven by a deep belief in the power of unity, Lady K is passionate about community engagement, inclusive leadership, and creating safe, supportive spaces where individuals and families can thrive. Her work centers on uplifting voices, strengthening networks, and inspiring collaboration across generations.

    Through Ngemi Cia UK, Lady K continues to champion initiatives that foster support, celebrate our heritage, preserve our cultur , and meaningful connection — turning vision into action and community into family.

    Lukas Kamau is the Co-Founder/Director of Ngemi Cia UK and a dedicated community leader with a deep heart for service within the Kenyan-UK diaspora. Passionate about unity, empowerment, and cultural connection, Lukas founded one of the largest Kenyan community groups in the United Kingdom, creating a vibrant platform that supports social, economic, and cultural development among Kenyans abroad.

    He has also been instrumental in the formation of the Kenyan Community Chair Council in UK & Europe, strengthening collaboration and representation of Kenyan communities across Europe. Through his leadership, Lukas continues to champion collective growth, advocacy, and meaningful engagement for Kenyans in the diaspora.

    The Events Compliance Team ensures that our events are planned and delivered in line with legal, regulatory, and organisational standards. They provide guidance on permits, safety requirements, data protection, accessibility, and risk management to help run safe, inclusive, and compliant events. Our team works closely with internal departments, partners, and external authorities to review event plans, identify potential risks, and support best practices from planning through delivery.

    The Logistics Team manages the operational planning and on-site coordination that ensure events run smoothly. From venue setup and equipment to transportation, scheduling, and supplier coordination, the team oversees the practical details behind every event. Working closely with vendors, partners, and internal teams, they ensure all resources are in place so that events are delivered efficiently, safely, and on time.

    The Marketing Team promotes and communicates our events to the right audiences through strategic campaigns, digital channels, and partnerships.
